Train Station
Brighouse has its own unstaffed train station. It is a small station with links to Huddersfeild, Halifax and Leeds. From there you can access major train stations across the UK.
A large, free car park (65 places) is avaliable across the road from the station as seen in the map.
Bus Station
The current one has 8 stands. Metro is planning a £2.8million project to make a new bus station. More than a million journeys are made to and from Brighouse bus station each year and Metro has identified that the old shelter waiting environment is in need of an upgrade.
The existing shelters will be demolished and replaced by a modern, six-stand, Drive-In-Reverse-Out (DIRO) facility with an enclosed concourse, electronic information, CCTV monitoring and new, high-quality flooring and seating. A new car park will be provided beside the bus station.
The station is due for redevelopment later this year. More
Coach Station
The nearest coach station is 12 miles away in Leeds.
Leeds Bradford Airport is the closest and is just 12miles away. The airlines fly to most European destinations. Manchester is just 30miles away and flys all around the world. More than a million journeys are made to and from Brighouse bus station each year and Metro has identified that the old shelter waiting environment is in need of an upgrade.

At a public consultation event, held at the Brighouse Forum Offices, Metro received overwhelming support from the people of Brighouse for its plans.
Almost every one of the 200 plus local people who visited Metro’s four-day consultation in the Brighouse Forum Offices, were in favour of the proposals on display. People raised a number of issues that will be considered at the project’s detailed design stage.
Current Status
A project programme is being developed and it is anticipated that the necessary planning application will be submitted by the end of 2004. It is anticipated that work will start on site during 2005 subject to resolution of any land ownership and planning issues. At the appropriate stage, Metro will produce a detailed project plan for the work and provide local people with information about temporary arrangements for access to local bus services during construction.
